My name is Candace and I have had a passion for feeding pets a natural, wholesome, clean diet for well over 20 years. I believe when we fuel our pets bodies with human grade ingredients, we get the best our pet has to offer! I have been cooking my own dog food for years and decided now is the time to share with others!

I have had a few special needs dogs over the past 25 years. From allergies to Addison's disease, I only wanted my pets to have the best care. When my high allergy dog Chucho, wouldn't eat the prescription food, I started to ask more questions and discovering that I could put a little more effort into his meals without reactions.

During this time I was also working in the pet food industry and would have regular trainings and attend seminars  from most brands of dog food, where I would ask the tough questions about sourcing practices and what parts of the ingredients were being used in foods.  I threw myself into learning about wholesome ingredients, sourcing practices and how to build a balanced meal for my dog's needs.  During the global pandemic, I was furloughed from my job and desperately needed something to keep my mind busy. I studied and tested to receive 2 certifications - one in Canine Nutrition and Health as well as Raw Dog Food Nutrition.

Now fast forward, today I have a non special needs standard poodle named Henry. I went from having chihuahuas to a standard poodle (its very different) and still wanted to apply my education and experience to stretch my dog food budget. I started making fresh whole food  to bulk up Henry's bowl at mealtime when it occurred to me that other dogs besides Henry might benefit from this as well. And Happy Henry's was born! I started out Happy Henry's making frozen dog food toppers and treats but quickly realized, though wonderful, this wasnt going to be easy in shipping frozen items. I quickly pivoted and shelf tested the idea of dehydrated toppers and have been creating ever since!  ​
